Jesus was born not in a royal palace, but in  a cattle shed.

Jesus was not a powerful political ruler,  but a common carpenter.

Jesus came not to wage war, but to spread peace and to forgive.

Jesus preached the Gospel not merely by words,  but by action and life.

Jesus came not to be served, but to serve.

Jesus, the King, wore   a crown not of gold, but of thorns.

Jesus' throne was not made of gold, but it was a wooden cross.

Jesus was not on His throne  in royal dress, but naked, stripped of His clothes by His enemies.

Jesus was not buried with a royal procession, but was laid in a simple tomb which belonged to another person.

Jesus comes to us at every Mass not with bright lights and a big show but in simple bread and wine, really present in them.

This is Jesus' style.
